Welcome to one of the oldest bluegrass festivals in the world! One of Bill Monroe's role models was his fiddle playin' uncle Pendleton Vandiver, whom he played tribute in the hit song Uncle Pen. Bill created the honorary Bluegrass Hall of Fame & Uncle Pen Days festival to not only honor his Uncle Pen, but to pay tribute to those he felt made contributions to bluegrass music. Now in our thirty-fourth year, enjoy 4 fun-filled days of music, over thirty performing artists, music and instrument workshops; and a lot of pickin' and jammin'. The highlight of this event is the official Bluegrass Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony that will take place on Saturday, September 27th. This year we are honored to celebrate the contributions that 2008 Hall of Fame Inductee Carlton Haney has made in the promotion of bluegrass music, as the creator of the first multi-band, multi-day bluegrass festival.
