Sunday, June 14: The Bean Blossom tradition continues as we worship and praise with Bill Monroe's preacher - The Real Apostle Pastor Paul Baggett. Enjoy the sounds of bluegrass gospel from The Sullivan Family, Paul Williams & Victory Trio, Danny Paisley & Southern Grass, Tommy Brown & County Line Grass, Reel Tyme String Band and Harvest Wind.
Monday, June 15th: Jump start your week off with some of the best in bluegrass! Featured today...the Lonesome River Band, Steep Canyon Rangers, David Davis & Warrior River Boys, Monroe Crossing, Tim Graves & Cherokee, and Karl Shiflett & Big Country Show.
Tuesday, June 16th: Join us for another Bean Blossom tradition as we enjoy a hot bowl of Ham & Beans and Miss Dixie Halls' famous cornbread at the annual Ham & Bean Supper. Kick back and enjoy the bluegrass sounds of: Randy Waller & Country Gentlemen, Kenny & Amanda Smith, Cody Shuler & Pine Mountain Railroad, Cadillac Sky, Wildfire, Karl Shiflett & Big Country Show and the 2009 Youth Bluegrass Boot Camp Band.
Wednesday, June 17th: Get ready for Dailey & Vincent, IBMA Entertainers of the Year, are back in town! Other artists performing include: IIIrd Tyme Out, The Lewis Family, Special Consensus, Wildwood Valley Boys, Lizzy Long & Legacy and Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road.
1ST ANNUAL GOLF CART PARADE - Wednesday, June 17th beginning at the main gate at 3:30 pm. First prize winner receives a gift certificate to the Park Gift Shop. Friday, June 19th: Bring your instruments and jam with the stars at the oldest of Bean Blossom traditions - the Bill Monroe Sunset Jam. On stage: Longview (featuring Don Rigsby, Lou Reid, J.D. Crowe, James King, Ronnie Stewart, and Marshall Wilborn); Ralph Stanley II, J.D. Crowe & New South, Jesse McReynolds & Virginia Boys, James King Band, Ronnie Reno & Reno Tradition and Melvin Goins & Windy Mountain.
Saturday, June 20th: This will be a night to remember featuring Grammy award winners and legendary Bluegrass Hall of Famer' - The Dan Tyminski Band, Dr. Ralph Stanley & The Clinch Mountain Boys and Bobby Osborne & Rocky Top Xpress. Also performing, Don Rigsby & Midnight Call, Larry Keel & Natural Bridge, James King Band, Dixie Bee Liners, Goldwing Express and Summertown Road.
Throughout the four days, festival patrons can enjoy the fun and educational music and instrument workshops planned on the Artist Workshop Stage located at the top of Hippy Hill. There will be a wide variety of workshops including: beginning-advanced levels on banjo, guitar, fiddle, mandolin and bass; mountain and bluegrass vocals, group harmony, songwriting, band promotion, Bean Blossom history and more. All workshops are taught by either professionals or the artists performing at this year's event. Miss Bertie Sullivan returns to Bean Blossom this year to host this year's workshop and showcase stage.
National and International bluegrass bands will be showcasing their talents on both the historic Main Stage, as well as, the Workshop Stage during the festival. This year featured will be the Country Saloon Band (Russia); Bluegrass Parkway (Australia); Hard Ryde (Canada); Tanzawa Bluegrass Band (Japan); Midnight Ramblers (VA); Lost River Risin' (band contest winners); New Old Timers (IN) and more!The 4th Annual Youth Bluegrass Boot Camp, sponsored by First Quality Music Supply,J. D. Crowe & The New South, Recording King, Central Indiana Bluegrass, will take place
Sunday-Tuesday, June 14-16. Camp Director Sarah Wasson will be heading up the camp and instructors. Interested youth ages 6-18 years of age will be allowed to sign up for the fun but structured camp. The Youth Bluegrass Boot Camp consists of professional instructors and will teach students in small group and one-on-one sessions - brand new through advanced. There will be over 16 hours of hands on instruction (banjo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar and bass) covering topics such as: basic instrument care and handling, vocals and harmonies, stage presence and working with microphones, songwriting, jam etiquette - you name it! Included in your new festival ticket purchase is admission to Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Hall of Fame, Museum & Uncle Pen's Cabin self-guided tour; all music and instrument workshops and activities scheduled at the Artist Workshop Stage; access to all food concessions and merchants. Parking is FREE and handicap accessible.
On-site festival camping is available at discounted rates. Advanced reserved water and electrical hook-ups are limited to approximately 300 sites.
30 amp = $21.40 / per day;
50 amp = $26.75 / per day; all sites double occupancy.
Additional adults on a hook-up site or primitive tent site = $6.42 per person / per day in advance. Unlimited dry camping for chance is available in Brummet's field.
All campers must purchase a ticket for every day of camping. Prices include all applicable state and local taxes.
Non-reserved gate arrivals will see an increase in camp rates.
In order to provide a safer environment for all festival attendees and campers, ATV's and/or 4-wheeler's will not be allowed into the campground. A limited number of golf cart's provided by Cunningham Golf Car (800) 456-1577 will be available for rent per day, for the weekend or by the week. Daily shuttle service will also be available throughout the day.
This festival has general admission, lawn chair seating. High backed chairs ARE NOT allowed for they impair the view of others. Please remember that all shows go on rain or shine at Bean Blossom. There are no rain checks or refunds. A rain shelter is provided for your convenience.
All acts and times are subject to change without prior notice.
Alcohol, smoking, pets and large coolers ARE NOT ALLOWED in the concert area. Drugs, firearms, fireworks and ATV's ARE BANNED from Bean Blossom. All violators will be prosecuted. Security and/or local law enforcement will be on the premises 24 hours to ensure that our festival patrons and campers have a wonderful time and memorable experience at Bean Blossom.
